Why We Started Better Choice Care
Some of my earliest memories are with my grandmother — she wasn’t just my grandmother, she was one of my best friends. Watching my family care for her with love and respect taught me that caring for our elders wasn’t simply a responsibility; it was part of who we were.
Today, as my own parents grow older, my husband Allen and I find ourselves asking the same questions every family asks: Can I trust this caregiver? Will they treat my loved one with kindness? Those questions became the foundation of Better Choice Care.
We started Better Choice Care because we understand how deeply families want dependable, respectful care for someone they love. Every client has a lifetime of experiences worth honoring. We thoughtfully match caregivers who will treat each person with dignity, patience, and respect.

How Does Better Choice Care Ensure Caregivers Are Trustworthy and Properly Trained?
Better Choice Care uses W-2 employee caregivers. Before being matched with a family, caregivers complete applicable California Home Care Aide registration verification, DOJ and FBI background clearance, a personal interview, and, when driving may be part of the assignment, a driving record review. Caregivers also complete required orientation and training before assignment.
Ways Families Pay for Home Care
Medicare and regular health insurance usually do not pay for non-medical help at home. Most families pay privately, and some veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA benefits. We’ll explain your options during a free consultation.
Private Pay
Families pay directly for the hours of care they choose. Service terms, rates, and any minimums are explained clearly before care begins—no long-term contract required.
